Southern Cross is a beautiful classic sailboat built for the English Royal Family in 1962. Built with the best materials and designed by W. McPherson Campbell, she won the title "Best ketch" in the year of her construction.
Apart from the British royals, she was also owned by Frank Sinatra, and is currently in Barcelona for luxury event rental. We are proud to have the Southern Cross as part of our fleet!
The Southern Cross is 35 meters (110 feet) in length and 7 meters (34 feet) beam and is the largest sailboat available for rent in Barcelona.
She has three decks. On the main deck, there are two dining rooms for 10 and 14 people, as well as a large interior room, a summer room and the bar area. On the upper deck, there is a large solarium area. The lower deck has all the cabins, the kitchen, as well as the engine room.
She is decorated with fine woods and her classic English design and luxury touch gives her great character.
The Southern Cross can accommodate 65 guests under sail/motor and up to 80 for in-port events. She provides an ideal setting for celebrations of large groups, companies or private functions.
Southern Cross is available for day charters ranging from 2 to 8 hours, as well as for longer cruises. You can combine time at sea with time to relax and enjoy her facilities in the fantastic setting of the Port Vell of Barcelona.
Our most popular charter combines 2 hours sailing with 2 hours in the port, usually accompanied by lunch or dinner while enjoying the beautiful views of the city from the port. A truly memorable occasion for your guests!

“My boyfriend and I booked a sunset sail with Dave. The Gemini was a beautiful old ship. We enjoyed a 3 hour sail around the harbor. We brought our own wine on board and relaxed with the views.cam20152015 | Dallas, Texas | 20 July 2015
“Can't fault the sunset cruise for a perfect anniversary experience. I was a bit apprehensive as I get motion-sickness, but I took a kwells, wore some wrist-bands and kept my eyes on the horizon and had a wonderful time despite it being rather choppy. I also followed Dave's advice and stayed to the middle and centre of the boat (Gemini). Husband used to sail when he was younger and Dave was happy to let him get involved and answer questions about the boat - which is a really beautiful classic boat. Watching the sun fade over the Barcelona horizon was pretty special. (I read the reviews on here prior to booking and the photos just don't do the experience justice.) Dave is a lovely skipper with a lovely boat. Would definitely recommend Classic Sail to anyone looking to do something a bit special in Barcelona.highspeedcow | | 7 September 2015

“We had a terrific 3+ hour cruise on the Gemini with David. He welcomed my wife and I and our three boys (6, 10, 16) on board and despite the cloudy skies and chop we really had a great time. Packed some bread, charcuterie, cheese and drinks enjoyed the view of Barcelona and some interesting conversation with David. Since we couldn't jump in the Med we really just spent the 3 hours in relaxation, and it was still the highlight of our 3 days in Barcelona. Just an FYI, there is paid PARKING literally right next to the boat, just drive down Carrer de la Marina and swing a left where there is the parking barrier but the underground pay garage at Port Olimpic is an option as well. Thanks David!Sami C | | 22 August 2015
