Dream boat

In 2008 I sold my house, found the boat of my dreams, and embarked on an adventure voyage around the UK and then across the Bay of Biscay to Spain. After a suitable number of trials and tribulations I arrived in the wonderful city of Barcelona.

The seed of an idea grew

People seemed to love sailing on Gemini just as much as I did. So now I make a living sharing my passion for old boats and spending time on the water. It wasn't the original plan, but sometimes things work out just fine!

Qualifications and experience

Circumnavigated the UK and the Iberian pensinsula, and survived storms in the Bay of Biscay! RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Offshore. Commercial Endorsement to 200 tonnes. RYA/MCA certificates in Sea Survival, First Aid, Short Range Radio.

Gemini of Leith

Dave's own boat is the 1947 classic sloop "Gemini of Leith". When he's not skippering adventures up and down the coast of Catalonia, you can often see Gemini sailing the waters of Barcelona. Look out for her distinctive classic lines and red headsail!

Great way to see Barcelona

Fab way to get away from it all and see Barcelona from another perspective. Lovely historic boat. Kids are most welcome!

Fun morning sail

Skippe Dave was great, and it was a fun morning sail. Gemini is full of character, and Dave was happy to tell us all about her. Definitely recommend this to others.

Champagne & the Sea

What a wonderful and relaxing three hours out on the sea with friends! This is an amazing company to use as you can do what you want, it isn't like the big stuff companies that lay everything out for you. We brought our own champagne and food for a picnic on the boat, it was lovely! If you have a group of 4 or more would highly recommend booking out the entire boat, it is just lovely!

A wonderful afternoon sailing on Skipper Dave's sailboat!

My husband and I sailed with Skipper Dave on his 41 foot, 1943 gorgeous wood sailboat. My husband is an accomplished sailor and offered to "crew" as we exited the harbor and got under sail. Of course, Skipper Dave was more than capable of doing this independently, but allowed my husband to assist. It wound up that he let my husband sail the boat (steer) for the 3 hours of the sail! He just loved being out on the Mediterranean, under sail, and manning the helm! I stayed on the fore deck and let those 2 sailors talk shop together. Skipper Dave was professional, capable and very friendly. He asked us what sort of sail we wanted...as I prefer a more smooth ride, he only put up the partial sails as it was a windy day. It was a perfect afternoon of sun and relaxation and a wonderful gift to my husband! Thank you for a lovely day!!

Perfect romantic evening

I planned a private sunset sail with my partner as a surprise while we were on holidays in Barcelona. it was perfect! Dave was wonderful, the boat was perfect, it was lovely to sit, eating some cheese and watching the sun set and the lights go on around the town. A very special experience - highly recommended! Thank you again Dave for a memorable evening
